Touching the Earth, Sunday February 28

Dear Friends,

Please join us this Sunday, February 28th at 6:30pm EST for a special evening of WMC mindfulness practice via Zoom meeting.

After sitting meditation we’ll practice Touching the Earth together. It may be helpful to clear some floor space around your computer or device so you have room to do the prostrations while listening to the reading. You can also do this practice while seated if that works better for you physically.

Within Thay’s Plum Village tradition, the practice of touching the earth helps us return to the earth and to our roots, to recognize that we are not alone but connected to a whole stream of spiritual and blood ancestors. We touch the earth to let go of the idea that we are separate, and to remind ourselves that we are of the Earth and part of Life. Please do join us if you can.

If you would like to join us virtually, please write to us at wmcsangha@gmail.com, and we will send you the Zoom link for the meeting.

Our Sangha is supported by dana - donations given from the heart. A large part of your tax deductible donation goes to help the Thich Nhat Hanh Foundation (which right now is all that is supporting our monks and nuns in monasteries around the world). Your generosity also helps support the Vihara (the monastery that hosts our meetings in DC in ‘normal’ times), WMC expenses, the library, and your own practice. These are difficult times for so many, but if you can afford to make a contribution, you can do so via the Donate page on this website.

Be well, take good care of yourselves and each other, and we’ll see you Sunday! ️

Love,

❤️
