Dear Friends,
Please join us this Sunday evening, May 15th, for a special practice. We will join the worldwide Plum Village community in celebrating Vesak, the day we commemorate both the birth and the continuation of the Buddha.
Our evening will begin at 6:15pm EDT with a video presentation from Plum Village called “Reflections of the Buddha, his Teachings, and the Ceremony of Vesak” which you can watch here:
Then after sitting meditation, we will offer a short video from Thay followed by our practice of Touching the Earth to help us connect with our roots and our ancestors. You may also wish to create a little space around your computer if you participate in the prostrations. Here’s a helpful video that shows how this practice can be done while seated or from various positions:
If you would like to join us virtually, please write to us at wmcsangha@gmail.com, and we will send you the Zoom link for the meeting.
Our Sangha is supported by dana - donations given from the heart. Your generosity is a gift that supports the Vihara, WMC expenses, the library, and your own practice. Part of your tax deductible donation also goes to help the Thich Nhat Hanh Foundation (which right now is all that is supporting our monks and nuns in monasteries around the world) and automatic monthly donations can be scheduled at our website:

Happy Vesak to all! We’ll see you this Sunday.
